WHAT'S NEW AT CLEARCOMMERCE!

NEW! CLEARCOMMERCE ALLIANCES

I am pleased to inform you of some new partnerships and alliances for ClearCommerce / Certegy. These partnerships improve our payment acceptance capabilities, add data for better transaction decisioning, and extend the reach of our products to a new segment of e-commerce retailers.

  • CardinalCommerce Corporation – CardinalCommerce allows ClearCommerce customers to utilize 3-D Secure Technology (Verified by VISA and Mastercard® Secure Code™) quickly and easily. E-Commerce merchants, who implement this secure protocol, may also qualify for improved interchange rates.
  • Kount™ – Kount provides ClearCommerce/Certegy with additional data that can be used in the decisioning of online transactions. This data is then used within our FraudShield® application to make more "informed" decisions when accepting or denying transactions.
  • Chase Paymentech™ – Our partnership with Chase Paymentech provides current e-commerce merchants, and users of Chase Paymentech for processing, the ability to interface directly to our ClearCommerce solutions (PaymentDirector™, FraudShield® and RapidReviewer™).

These partners and strategic alliances will continue to fuel our growth as we move through 2009. For additional details regarding any of these alliances, please contact your account manager.

These are exciting times at ClearCommerce, and I am privileged to be a part of the state of the art products and services we are building. Please contact me directly for any questions you may have about ClearCommerce or any of our new initiatives. You may reach me at 800 -215-6280, extension 75959, or email will.hazama@fnis.com.

MERCHANT RISK COUNCIL MEETING IN LAS VEGAS, NV

Once again, ClearCommerce/Certegy was a key sponsor at the recent Merchant Risk Council meeting held at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas from March 10-12, 2009, with over 400 participants in attendance. Staples and ClearCommerce/Certegy were featured "speakers" at this event, providing our MRC attendees with a presentation on "Implementing E-Commerce Fraud Strategies." For a copy of the presentation or additional information about the MRC (http://www.merchantriskcouncil.org/), contact your account manager.

2009 CERTEGY SYMPOSIUM CANCELLED

After considerable deliberation, the decision has been made to cancel the Certegy Symposium 2009. A number of factors contributed to this difficult decision - the state of the economy, the state of retailing, and respect for our customers during these difficult times. Although registrations were slow but steady, we know that many of you are directly feeling the pressure of reduced sales, store closings, reductions in staff, and many other cost-saving initiatives imposed by your organizations. Given these factors, as well as anticipated reduced attendance, we believe it is in the best interest of our clients to cancel this year's event. As we all know, the strength of the Symposium has always been the interaction and networking that occurs between you, other customers, and our associates; and with lower attendance that vital combination will suffer.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have already registered for Symposium, you have received a separate email communication from Alisa Schmidt. Should you have any questions, please contact your ClearCommerce/Certegy representative or direct them to the Symposium Team - Cindy Knowles at 727-227-5829 / cynthia.knowles@fnis.com or Dave Munns at 727-227-5392 / david.munns@fnis.com.

CLEARCOMMERCE PRODUCT UPDATE:
ALTERNATIVE PAYMENTS FOR INTERCHANGE REDUCTION

In this product update, we will explore the balancing act between payment interchange costs, customer satisfaction and retention, and fraud exposure. While driving payment interchange processing costs down is always a priority for merchants, it is not simply a matter of selecting the cheapest payment processing. Other factors, such as customer convenience, shopping cart abandonment rate, and credit card program compliance come into play as well. Using the right combination of payment types for your specific needs is critical in this balancing act. Read More
